Birds Kingdom Amwaj

Amwaj Island, Bahrain

The site extends in excess of 2200 sqm. and is unique to Bahrain.
Construction began in 2011, and opened the doors to the public in April 2014. The gardens and park were the vision of Mr. Saud Kanoo with the purpose of housing the private collection of his father Mr. Abdul Aziz Qassim Kanoo, thus sharing his passion for birds with the residents of Bahrain and the global community. The park is designed both as a recreational facility and an educational centre and houses an extensive collection of endangered birds from around the world to include countries such as Africa, America and the Far East. The idyllic location on the shores of Amwaj Islands, coupled with the lush gardens provide an ideal venue to relax, unwind and is great for adults and kids. The park hosts regular events throughout the winter months to further enhance our visitor experience such as regular market days, birthday parties and exhibitions. Take a walk through our huge aviary, and stop to look through the nursery window to see any new chicks which may have hatched. Our onsite café is an ideal place to sit and enjoy a refreshing drink or snack whilst enjoying the view across the water. Children will love our play area and enjoy the gift shop to take home their own birdy souvenir!
